Shelf Reviews | Kizumonogatari: Wound Tale

Introduction:

Originally I wasn’t going to even write an introduction for this new post series, but I figured I should explain what’s going on here. You see, I’ve been pretty annoyed in the past months because the other two review series I had going were incredibly difficult to maintain. Gonzo Hell would have involved me buying a majority of the shows I listed for coverage, and Journey through Gundam was much the same. So instead of continuing those, I decided that it would be better to review the anime and manga that I actually own.

And so here we are! In each of these Shelf Review posts, I’ll be covering a light novel, book, or anime series that I have personally bought. This will not only force me to use the things that I buy, but it also will hopefully make my review output on this site more consistent. Anyways, that’s been enough stalling; on with the review! Bakemonogatari – Nadeko Snake

titlecard

I was worried about a lot of things before going into Nadeko Snake. I was worried about Nadeko, who is arguably the only girl in the cast of Bakemonogatari that most people agree on being horrible, and who just so happens to be the central character of this story. Also, from everything I heard, this arc seemed to be ridden with fan service and disgusting otaku spank material. Basically, according to all the information I could gather, this seemed like it was going to be the most polarizing arc for me yet… Surprisingly though, it actually wasn’t. In fact this arc wasn’t really all that bad. I mean don’t get me wrong, the fan service here is disgusting, and Nadeko is indeed the worst character in the cast (And that’s a lot considering Mayoi exists), but otherwise I found it to be pretty enjoyable. Bakemonogatari: Suruga Devil

Disclaimer:

Hey guys! It’s been a long time hasn’t it, heh heh heh… Yeah school started up, and because of that I’ve been having trouble finding the time to write anything except stuff for BraveNewMoe. So yeah, now that I’m into the groove of school I think I can start up with regular posts again, and what’s a better way to reboot my schedule than writing about the next arc of Bakemonogatari: Suruga Devil.? Nothing, that’s what! Let’s begin! Continue reading

Welcome to the Site!

smile

Hey everybody who somehow have found this site! Welcome to Overlooking View, the place were I blabber on and on about anime, video games, and every so often a book or movie that’s captured my attention. But mostly just anime. I don’t try to limit myself to a specific format for my posts, but you will see standard reviews, free from write-ups, and other things like that.

Now before you ask if I cover seasonal anime, well I do… But not on this blog. If you want to here me ramble on about Sword Art Online II, Barakamon, Ao Haru Ride, and Space Dandy 2nd Season, you can do so on Brave New Moe! I post stuff on there with a couple of other writers, so check it out. I hope you like it.

Anyways, the agenda for this opening weekend is going to be Monogatari, and Archived Reviews. Now the archived reviews will start being posted today, and they are basically exactly what they sound like. Old, crappy reviews I posted on my now dead Tumblr blog (God I’m so glad I left that site); so take a look at those if you want. As for the Monogatari stuff, well I’m planning to subject myself to the entire Monogatari anime franchise, where I plan to make a post on each arc. I hope I’ll enjoy it!

persona4 arena

There may also be a Persona 4 Arena game review coming out this weekend, though I can’t guarantee that. At the latest that should be out by the end of next week. So I guess you can also look forward to that!
